Congratulations to Deborah Davis who had a hole in one at the 6th hole last week. Here is a nice snap of her celebrating her achievement!
I would like to thank you for your patience and for bearing with us as the road works are taking place. I can assure you that we are doing everything we can to get 'Amey' (the contractors) to make the diversions and access to Naunton Downs clearer, but we are being met with little response, and a total lack of communication from them despite phone calls to them daily to complain!
The contractors have advised me that the best route to get to the golf club is via 'Aylworth' off the A436 (Andoversford to Bourton on the Water road). That will bring you down the road that runs parallel with our 8th hole. At the end once you meet the B4068 turn right and down the road to the club. You will encounter signs indicating that the road is closed and possible barriers across the road but you have to ignore them and go round them otherwise you will be diverted round to the other end of the road works and face the same problem!
The road closure has impacted quite severely on the golf club this week and it would be helpful to us that anyone who has had major difficulty to email us with any complaints and comments regarding the difficulties that you are experiencing, so that we can use your comments and complaints to prove just how difficult they are making things for our members and visitors? Click here to send me an email.
Thank you once again, and we are sorry for the disruption but it really is completely out of our control.
Captains Charity Day - Saturday 23rd August
If you are playing in this event on Saturday I would advise you to read the above words on the road works issue, journey times are taking much longer than would be normal. As this competition is a shot gun start at 8.30am it is advisable to set off early!
Well the excitement is starting to build in preparation for the Ryder Cup at the end of September. With Tiger's announcement that he won't be taking part due to his injuries and Dustin Johnson's self-imposed exile the USA team look to be in a little disarray! But I am sure though come the time it will be business as usual and we will be treated to the normal high tempo and exciting event that it is each time!
